Terminal and SSH

Copy files

Copy files and directories to and from a Kiste with kiste scp, scp and rsync.

kiste scp

kiste scp ./report.zip current:/workspace/
kiste scp current:/workspace/report.zip ./report.zip
kiste scp a.txt b.txt build:~/
kiste scp -r ./src build:/workspace/src
kiste scp --name build --download -r /workspace/results ./results

Paths are local paths or NAME:/remote/path, where NAME may be current or self. The last path is the destination. -r copies directories, -p keeps modification times and modes. --download treats paths without a NAME: as remote, together with --name.

kiste scp uses the same connection as kiste ssh: through kiste.run, with the pinned host key and the shared connection.

scp, rsync and sftp directly

After signing in, every Kiste is an SSH host named NAME.kiste on your computer (SSH configuration), so the usual tools work:

scp ./data.csv review-42.kiste:/workspace/
rsync -az --delete ./site/ review-42.kiste:/var/www/site/
sftp review-42.kiste

Through the desktop

The desktop viewer carries text through the clipboard, not files. To move a file into a Kiste from a phone or a computer without the CLI, put it somewhere the Kiste can download it from, or publish an upload app with Kiste Stream.
