# Overview

> Create, run, stop, resume, checkpoint, fork and delete your Kisten.

A Kiste is a cloud machine of your own. This section covers its whole life,
from `kiste new` to `kiste delete`. In short:

```bash
kiste new review-42 --no-ssh      # create and start; select it as current
kiste list                        # all your Kisten
kiste status review-42 --usage    # one Kiste, with live CPU, memory and disk
kiste stop --snapshot             # stop and keep the session
kiste start review-42             # resume where you left off
kiste fork review-42-try --source review-42   # independent copy of a running Kiste
kiste snapshot create --name before-upgrade   # a named restore point
kiste delete review-42            # the Kiste and its disk, permanently
```
