# S: Kiste Stream (published apps on kiste.stream)

> Every S error code: what it means, when it happens and how to fix it.

7 codes. Each one is part of an error answer as `code`; `type` is the stable name that scripts branch on. The CLI shows the code at the end of its message, for example `(code: S01)`. Words in braces, such as `{name}`, are filled in with the actual value.

## S01

`service_not_found` · HTTP 404

> There is no published app {service}. (code: S01)

**When it happens.** A request named a published app that does not exist or was unpublished.

**How to fix it.** Check your published apps.

**In the CLI.** Check published ports with `kiste stream ls`.

**Retry.** No. Retrying the same request gives the same answer.

## S02

`service_name_taken` · HTTP 409

> {name} already publishes an app named {service}. (code: S02)

**When it happens.** A new published app used a name the Kiste already uses.

**How to fix it.** Choose another name, or unpublish the existing app first.

**Retry.** No. Retrying the same request gives the same answer.

## S03

`invalid_service` · HTTP 400

> That app can't be published: {detail}. (code: S03)

**When it happens.** A published app had an invalid port, protocol, path or description.

**How to fix it.** Correct the request and send it again.

**Retry.** No. Retrying the same request gives the same answer.

## S04

`service_unavailable` · HTTP 503

> This app isn't answering right now. (code: S04)

**When it happens.** The published app did not answer: it is not running, listens on another port, or the Kiste is stopped.

**How to fix it.** Make sure the app is running inside the Kiste, then try again.

**Retry.** Yes, with backoff: wait a moment and try again, waiting longer each time.

## S05

`service_request_rejected` · HTTP 400

> This request can't be passed to the app: {detail}. (code: S05)

**When it happens.** A request to a published app used an unsupported method or was too large.

**How to fix it.** Send a smaller request or a supported method.

**Retry.** No. Retrying the same request gives the same answer.

## S06

`stream_address_not_found` · HTTP 404

> Nothing is streamed at this address. (code: S06)

**When it happens.** A kiste.stream address names no published app or desktop link, or the link has expired.

**How to fix it.** The link is wrong, or what it pointed to was stopped. Ask for a new link.

**Retry.** No. Retrying the same request gives the same answer.

## S07

`service_busy` · HTTP 429

> This app is getting more requests than it can take. Please wait {seconds} seconds and try again. (code: S07)

**When it happens.** A published app received more requests in a short time than Kiste passes on to it.

**How to fix it.** Wait, then reload the page.

**Retry.** Yes, after 60 seconds. The answer carries `Retry-After`.
