# Devices and multiple viewers

> Open a desktop on several devices at once, hand it to a phone or tablet, and the limits on viewers.

## Several viewers at once

A desktop can be open in up to **four browsers at once**, on any of your
devices: your laptop and a big screen, or two people of the same account
looking at the same screen. Everyone sees the same desktop and can type and
click.

- Each viewer gets its own stream, adapted to its own connection, with its own
  sound.
- The viewer that joined or resized most recently decides the Kiste's display
  size; the others show the same picture scaled to fit their window.
- A viewer with a bad connection only affects itself.

An account can have up to **eight** desktop viewers open across all its Kisten.

Desktop links only open in browsers signed in to your account, so a viewer is
always someone with access to your account. There are no view-only links for
other people yet.

## Phones and tablets

The viewer works in mobile Safari and Chrome. It sizes the desktop to the part
of the screen you can see, also when the browser's toolbars move or the
on-screen keyboard is open.

To move a desktop from your computer to your phone, print a link and open it
there (you need to be signed in to the console, console.kiste.run, in the phone's browser):

```bash
kiste desktop review-42 --ttl 2h --print-url
```

A laptop-sized desktop on a phone screen is small; a tablet or a phone in
landscape works better.
